Kayla Cullinane: Ireland Week 8 (Eight Weeks but a Lifetime of Memories)

I can’t believe I’m writing this but here is my eighth and final blog entry from my time in Dublin. It’s hard to put into words just how much I’ve grown, both personally and professionally, during these past eight weeks. I’ve adapted to the way of Irish life, gained valuable insight into the field of addiction recovery, and built friendships that I know will last a lifetime. These past eight weeks would not have been as incredible as they were if not for the amazing people I was so lucky to spend time with each day. I very well remember […]

Price Wilson: Week 8 – The Perfect Send Off

It is so crazy to think that this trip is almost over! I am onto my last week here in Dublin, and that means it’s time for my final blog. Beginning with my internship, I finished up the project that I had been working on for the past 6 weeks. I got my LEGO AFM fully operational and completely finished the assembly manual and was able to turn it in, meaning that I am pretty much done with work! This experience has taught me so much about nanotechnology as well as working and researching in a lab and I am […]

Aidan O’Malley: Week 8 (A S(painful) goodbye)

This weekend, my friends and I made the most of our free weekend and traveled to the island of Mallorca in Spain. We landed late on Thursday night, but although tired from our long journey, we decided to explore the town of Mallorca. Even though it was dark out, the town itself was lit up with calm yellow lights, making it seem incredibly welcoming. On Friday morning, my friends and I awoke early to get the necessary supplies for the weekend and head off to the beach. We spent all day Friday at the beach, swimming in the beautiful light […]

Riley Bossick Week 8: The only blog I was not looking forward to write… because I’m not ready to leave

I’ve been avoiding writing this blog because I don’t want to accept that this trip is actually ending. I really don’t want it to end! I’ve met some amazing people along the way, from my roommates, fellow Bucknell students, and my new friends from as far as California. It’s unfortunate knowing that I won’t see any of them next semester since I’ll be studying abroad in Australia and Singapore. (I’m trying to convince them to visit me) I;’ve already said I’ll take a trip to California once I come back though! Anyways I had a long weekend, specifically a five […]

Richard Perez, Ireland: Week 8 – Ire’ll Miss You

Well, it’s here: This is the last blog post of my summer, and what a week to end things off! I took my first ever trip to a different country on my own, and I feel really proud of it. But first, we need to rewind to last Thursday. Thursday night, I decided to go out since I was going to be away the whole weekend, so I decided to go to a bar that I learned about from reading other blog posts. I went to Dohenys and Nesbitts, and it was really interesting. They had lots of booths so […]

Zoe Bertram: Ireland Week 8 (The Conclusion)

It’s hard to believe this is my eighth and final Dublin blog. My summer abroad has flown by, and while I’m sad to see it end, I’m also ready to head home, reset, and gear up for the school year. Reflecting on these past two months, I feel like I’ve accomplished so much—between my internship, my class, and the adventures of living in a new country. After spending the whole summer in the unpredictable Irish weather, my friends and I decided we deserved some guaranteed sun. We took Thursday and Friday off from our internships and flew to Tavira, Portugal, […]
