Riley Bossick Week 4: UCD or UCD?

I’ve developed a full-blown addiction to iced matcha’s. Truthfully I’ve gotten one everyday after work. I love my little routine of leaving work taking a 15 minute walk to The Matcha Bar, then taking a stroll through St. Stephens Green. It’s the perfect way to unwind.  This past week has been unexpectedly social and eventful. I met a bunch of students from UC Davis and UC San Diego who are also on the Connect 123 program. We ended up going out together on Thursday and Friday night and had a blast bar hopping and getting to know one another. I’ve […]

Aidan O’Malley: Week 4 (Castles, Concerts, Guinness, and more)

This past week in Dublin has flown by. I turned in my first project for my internship, visited Blarney Castle, and the Guinness factory. After spending the previous two weeks working on my project, I was ready to hand it in and learn what I would be working on next. After handing it in on Friday, I was more than ready for the weekend and the trips ahead of me. Waking up early on Saturday morning, I got on the bus ready for a day of castles and more. The tours of the castles were great as I was able […]

Brad Gerken Week 4: New Views, Old Castles, and Unbeatable Music

It is crazy to think that I am already approaching the halfway point to my time in Ireland. The past few weeks have been nothing but amazing as I’ve truly been able to immerse myself in Irish culture and become comfortable with Dublin and my Internship.  Starting off Week 4 our group took a trip to the Custom House and the Dublin Castle after Monday class. Both buildings were more interesting than I expected as both had their own unique history and stories behind how they became as they are today. Although mostly gone today, underground at the Dublin Castle […]

Zoe Bertram: Ireland Week 4 (Three Castles and a Concert!)

I can’t believe it’s already week 4 of Bucknell in Dublin – time is flying by! I have been making so many memories exploring Ireland and spending time with friends. Last week consisted of internship work and new adventures in Dublin. Our group activity on Thursday was a traditional Irish fairy tale session, followed by a traditional Irish dinner. Honestly, the fairy tales were not my favorite, and I didn’t love the traditional Irish dinner afterward, but it was nice to spend time with everyone. Friday night, Rayna, Emilia, and I grabbed dinner at an Italian restaurant and then headed […]

Ellix Sandhu Week 4: Halfway!

With another week passed in Dublin, we have reached the halfway point of my summer adventures. Thursday night, we met at a pub in the city to hear some stories of Irish folklore and fairytales, which added more cultural context to the trips that we have been going on. On Saturday, we took a trip to three different castles, starting with the Rock of Cashel. I always love seeing these castles, and think it is amazing just how old they are. We then went to Blarney Castle, where people lined up from across the world to kiss the Blarney Stone. […]

Sienna Hurd: Week 4 – Castles and Cold Water!

I can’t believe that we’re already going on our fourth week here in Ireland! At this point, I am fully settled in at my internship and have become very familiar and comfortable travelling around Dublin. Here’s a little about my past week! Last Monday, after class, we visited the Dublin Castle and the Custom House. It was really cool to learn about the history behind both buildings and explore them. On Thursday, one of my friends from home was visiting Dublin to see family, so we met up in the city to grab lunch and walk around. It was really […]
