Rayna Tyler Week 4: (Backseat) Loving Dublin!

Time is flying by here in Dublin! It is crazy to believe we are already halfway through. This week was definitely the best so far, between touring castles, seeing my favorite band, and going to the Guinness Storehouse. The highlight of my week, without question, was seeing The Backseat Lovers live in concert. They have been my favorite band for a long time, and every time I get the chance to see them perform, it’s truly special. Their sound is incredible on recordings, but hearing them live brings their music to a whole new level. This show was at The National […]

Gideon Daniels – Week 4: Halfway There?!

This weekend, we traveled to Blarney Castle, where we had the opportunity to kiss the Blarney Stone. Unfortunately, the lines to kiss it were very long and the majority of our time at the castle would have been spent waiting in line. Instead, we decided to walk around the estate and explore the nature surrounding the castle. They have a very diverse garden with multiple different themes that all had their own unique energy, but were all beautiful to experience. My favorite of these was probably the fern garden, which housed ferns that supposedly were originally found during the Jurassic […]

Week Four- A Week of Favorites

This past week was a true combination of Irish adventures. We packed the week with iconic sights. I started the week with a visit to one of Ireland’s most famous landmarks, Blarney Castle on Saturday. While the castle was surrounded by the most beautiful scenery and gardens, the only downside was the line to kiss the Stone wrapped around and would have taken almost two hours. After debating the idea of standing in line for that long of time I opted to enjoy the stunning gardens. Later in the week, I had what might be one of my favorite experiences yet, […]

Kayla Cullinane: Ireland Week 4 (Concert and Castles)

I’m back again with another update on my recent adventures in Dublin! It’s been another amazing week and I can’t wait to share all about it. Last week at my internship I was able to spend the day with my boss meeting some of the clients they work with. I gained a lot of knowledge on appropriate ways to speak with those who struggle with addiction. We went to different clinics and homeless shelters around Bray Town to learn about the ways in which they provide support for individuals. I am so grateful for these opportunities and look forward to […]

Tennyson Kelly: Ireland Week 4 – Witnessing the Culture

This week was jam-packed and filled with many days to remember. The week kicked off with our trip to the Stags Head pub for Irish folklore and fairytales on Thursday night. The pub has a lot of history, and the stories told were very interesting. Over the weekend, we took a day trip to see even more castles! We started the day trip at the Rock of Cashel, which is around 1,000 years old! We then went to Blarney Castle, which was a beautiful property. Everyone got in line to kiss the Blarney Stone, but after seeing that the wait […]

Campbell Coonley: Week 4 – Castles to Coastlines

I can’t believe we are already halfway through our trip and it somehow manages to keep getting better! On Saturday we took a day trip to the Rock of Cashel, the Blarney Castle, and the Cahir Castle. I enjoyed having lots of time to explore the castles on our own and they were all unique in their own ways. When we arrived at our second stop, the Blarney Castle, we headed straight to get in line to kiss the stone. Some friends and I waited for nearly two hours, but we kept each other occupied and time passed surprisingly quickly! […]
