Richard Perez, Ireland: Week 5 – Peace

I woke up Monday morning and I walked the bridge alone that looms over the river Foyle. It’s a slow meander with white artifices protruding from both sides. It looks almost futuistic, and indeed, it was made with a brighter future in mind. We learned about “The Troubles”, and how it was a time of conflict between the people of Northern Ireland on whether they should join the Republic of Ireland. For decades, the people of Belfast, Derry, and other towns clashed through their unwavering differences in religion (Catholics/Protestants) and political ideologies (Republicans/Liberals), as the death tolls rolled and the […]

Kayla Cullinane: Ireland Week 5 (Family, Fishing, and Fluffy Lambs)

Another action packed week here in Ireland has flown by with so many amazing memories and experiences I’ll remember forever. I am amazed at how quickly the time has passed here and I cannot believe it is already week 5!! I enjoy my weekly routine of working, spending time with good friends, and visiting more places I’ve never been to. As a whole, this experience has taught me a lot of self responsibility and independence in terms of managing my time well and making the most out of everything I do. With each week that passes, I feel more confident […]

Anthony Bell – Ireland Week 4: Castles, Cows, & Reflecting on My Internship

Wrapping up week four of being in Ireland I can’t help but reflect on the fact that it does not feel as though I have been here for a whole month. I still feel like I arrived last week and am looking forward to all the adventures that still await. That being said, this post does mark the halfway point of the trip and as I have continuously remarked in my previous posts, I am so grateful for to be here and all that I have seen, learned, and experienced. Despite feeling like my time here has been short, I […]

Colin Caricato: Dublin Week 4- More castles and Guinness tours

Week 4 has promised a lot, and as we near the halfway point, let’s recap what has happened this past week. By now, I’ve pretty much gotten into a routine, the large main UCD gym is finally letting everyone in, and I know how to get around by bus in all of Dublin with pretty much no trouble. This past week has been both exciting and exhausting, so let me fill you in on all of the juicy details. At my internship, I’ve been making great progress lately: I’ve finished creating all the onboarding materials for new hires and employees, […]

Nick Snyder: Dublin Week 4 – Castles and Barrels

This week in Ireland was another eventful one, where I was able to gain a lot more insight from my internship during the week and also see a lot more sights in the beautiful country of Ireland. During this week I got more involved at my internship, I was finally finishing some earlier assignments dealing with the AI model and was working with a new program called VoiceFlow. This online program allows me to create my own flows to implement different features into the AI Voice agent like credit card integration for online payments as well as multiple languages for […]

Week 4: Justin Lee – Guinness Time

This past week in Ireland was full of incredible experiences, both within and out of the classroom. Perhaps most interesting that we learned through doing our internship is the process of launching brand identity globally. I had not realized that so much goes into every detail, from packaging to messaging, even for a brand as iconic as Guinness. This past week, a tour of The Guinness Storehouse made these things that much more real. Walking through the history of the brand and its growth through all seven floors of the experience gave me a new sense of appreciation for the […]
