Week 5: Street Art, Sheep, and Stories

This past weekend, we went on a weekend trip to Belfast and Derry. It was a very interesting and memorable experience.   We started by going to the Titanic Belfast Museum, and I was not expecting it to be such an emotional experience, but I did tear up a bit. Riley and I went to Zizzi Pizza for lunch, which was good. After we did the Political Taxi Tours, checked into our hotel, and walked around central Belfast during our free time, we saw some fantastic street art. I had known previously that Belfast had an area with lots of street […]

Max Wilson: Week 5 – An Unexpected Delight

This week was fun for me in the office. I have gotten the chance to switch up my work in the office and embark on a large coding project that involves problem-solving. Although the project has been difficult and frustrating at times, I enjoy the challenge.  On Saturday, we started our journey to Belfast early in the morning with our first stop being at the Titanic museum. Although very sad, this experience was so interesting and I enjoyed learning about the history of the Titanic, which I had limited knowledge about prior. After we went on a political taxi tour […]

Week four in Dublin.

I’ve been living in Dublin for almost a month now, and my fourth week here was definitely one of the most eventful so far. It was a mix of work, travel, and learning about both Irish history and American traditions. On Friday, the company I’m working for, Happythreads, organized a photo shoot for their new line of scrubs. I spent the whole day helping out with the other interns, and it was really fun to see everything that goes into setting up a professional shoot. From arranging the products to helping with the lighting, there was always something to do, […]

Rayna Tyler Week 5: Navigating the North

Another great weekend trip for the books! On Saturday, we took the bus up to Northern Ireland for a jam-packed few days of museum visits, scenic walks, and historical tours. We started in Belfast, stopping first at the Titanic museum. I was super excited for this first stop, because I have heard raving reviews about this particular Titantic Museum. When I was younger, I had a slight (maybe not so slight) obsession with everything Titantic related. Whether it was books about the individuals on the ship, facts about the event, documentaries, or museums, I could not get enough. The obsession […]

Nathaniel Falcon – Ireland Week 5: The Globe up North

As week 5 comes to a close, I would say, hands-down the Northern Ireland Weekend Trip has taken the top spot for my favorite so far! But lets not get too far ahead of ourselves, and start with the recap before leaving bright and early on Saturday morning. This past Wednesday was picture day at Financefair! As mentioned last week, the marketing team is working very hard to update the website, and with that comes new photos! I loved the picture I got and now I get to even take newcomer photos tomorrow with all the new American and Irish […]

Anthony Bell – Ireland Week 5: Learning About Northern Ireland!

This past week was another adventure I will never forget. I had the privilege of learning all about the rich political history of Northern Ireland, specifically Belfast and Derry, while experiencing extraordinary locations.  The packed weekend started off with the Titanic museum in Belfast. This was a very interactive museum with recreated decks and cabins, a scale model of the Titanic, tons of rich history, personal passenger stories, dramatic audiovisual presentations, and insights into maritime safety reforms sparked by the disaster. I learned a lot about the tragedy of the Titanic and the shockwaves it sent through the world from […]
