It’s hard to believe this is my eighth and final Dublin blog. My summer abroad has flown by, and while I’m sad to see it end, I’m also ready to head home, reset, and gear up for the school year. Week 7 of Bucknell in Dublin is already coming to an end and I cannot believe how fast it has gone by. We only have one more week after this which means this is my second to last blog. This week looked a bit different for me! I flew to Austria early Thursday morning to meet up with my dad and brother in Vienna. They had been traveling through Switzerland and Austria, and their itinerary happened to coincide perfectly with a weekend when I could miss our group activity. Although Gaelic games seemed fun to watch, I’ll admit I was relieved to miss out. I would be terrified if I were thrown onto a sports field with a helmet and a stick. I am officially 5 weeks into the Bucknell in Dublin program, and I’ve finally had the opportunity to experience the thing I’ve been looking forward to since applying- holding a baby sheep! As usual, it has been a whirlwind of exciting experiences, both through my internship and while exploring Ireland. A couple weeks ago, my internship supervisor, the Senior Economist at TASC, launched the Ireland 2025 Inequality Report. I can’t believe it’s already week 4 of Bucknell in Dublin – time is flying by! I have been making so many memories exploring Ireland and spending time with friends. Last week consisted of internship work and new adventures in Dublin. Our group activity on Thursday was a traditional Irish fairy tale session, followed by a traditional Irish dinner.
