As my time in Dublin comes to a close, I cannot fully express how great of an experience this trip was. What seemed would be a long two months in the beginning actually flew by in the blink of an eye. From seeing amazing sights, learning all about Ireland, taking courses, and partaking in a global internship, I can say that this trip was amazing. The weekend trips were definitely my favorite parts of the trip. From seeing the cliffs of Moher, visiting Galway, and Northern Ireland, among other locations, I can say I have pretty much visited the majority […]

The events of week 7 in Dublin kicked off on Saturday morning when Brad, Max, and I made our way to the Grange Castle Golf Course to play a full round of 18 holes on the beautiful course. We had previously played a round on their 7-hole course, but we were very excited to play on the main course. Although we did not play our best, we had an incredible amount of fun on the course. I was feeling generous, so I gave Max a few of my balls since his golf balls seemed to have a magnet for the […]

From house parties to Gaelic games, week 6 in Dublin was one that was full of activities! On Thursday night, we made our way into the city for an Irish House party. We began the night with dinner, which was very good. Following our dinner, we went downstairs to watch the Irish House Party show. The show consisted of traditional Irish Music and dancing. The band was very fun and kept the group engaged. The Irish dancer was also very entertaining, and we were all surprised by how fast she was able to move her feet. We did not have […]

Week 5 in Ireland was packed with activities and lots of learning! The weekend began with us going to Northern Ireland. I knew that the British rule of Northern Ireland was controversial to Irish people, but I had no idea how serious it was. One difficult thing about this week was having to celebrate the 4th of July in another country. The 4th is a holiday that is celebrated all weekend long where I’m from, so it was disappointing to miss out on all of the festivities that were going on back at home. However, we still found time to […]

This week was jam-packed and filled with many days to remember. The week kicked off with our trip to the Stags Head pub for Irish folklore and fairytales on Thursday night. The pub has a lot of history, and the stories told were very interesting. Over the weekend, we took a day trip to see even more castles! We started the day trip at the Rock of Cashel, which is around 1,000 years old! We then went to Blarney Castle, which was a beautiful property. Everyone got in line to kiss the Blarney Stone, but after seeing that the wait […]
