I can not believe this was the last full week on this trip. This trip has been so amazing and so special. I have learned a lot about myself professionally and personally. This is an experience I will certainly never forget. I am definitely going home a better person than when I left. Even though I can’t wait to see my family and go back to school, leaving Ireland is going to be extremely difficult. This past weekend we took our free weekend trip to Mallorca, Spain. I can confidently say this was the coolest place I have ever been. […]
As our time in Dublin starts to wrap up, I’m filled with lots of emotions. This past week has been super busy. My classroom was especially emotional this week, as it was graduation on Friday for the children I’ve been lucky enough to teach this summer. It’s hard to explain how special these kids are and the relationships I have created with them. Saying goodbye wasn’t easy and I can’t believe they are all moving on. I got lots of thank you cards and gifts from the parents, which was super thoughtful, and now I can remember these kids forever. […]
This week began for me as I said goodbye to my parents and sister. They came to Dublin to visit me and had been exploring all around Ireland. We went to dinner at Layla’s Rooftop where I had a delicious dinner and said see you in three weeks to my family! The next day I met up with Kayla’s family at Johnnie Fox’s. If you’ve never been, it’s a old-school pub up in the mountains (highest elevated pub in Ireland) with live music, delicious food, and a very traditional and cozy atmosphere. It was great to be able to see […]
This past week has been one of the most beautiful and enriching experiences I’ve had on this trip thus far. Our weekend trip to Northern Ireland was filled with history, culture, and scenery. We began our journey in Belfast, where we visited the Titanic Museum. I have always been super interested in the Titanic and learning about it’s history. The interactive exhibits and artifacts were powerful and truly brought the story to life. Afterward, we went on a taxi tour of the city, where we got to see firsthand the murals and peace walls that tell the story of Belfast’s […]

This past week was a true combination of Irish adventures. We packed the week with iconic sights. I started the week with a visit to one of Ireland’s most famous landmarks, Blarney Castle on Saturday. While the castle was surrounded by the most beautiful scenery and gardens, the only downside was the line to kiss the Stone wrapped around and would have taken almost two hours. After debating the idea of standing in line for that long of time I opted to enjoy the stunning gardens. Later in the week, I had what might be one of my favorite experiences yet, […]
