It’s hard to believe our time in Dublin is almost over. This experience has taught me so much, and I have grown a great deal. I’m incredibly grateful for all the amazing people I’ve met and the friends I’ve made. Over the past weekend, I had a wonderful time filled with fun experiences. I’ve been keeping busy with various projects for my job, but it to take a break and spend time with a friend who came to visit. I picked her up from the airport, and we headed into town for brunch at a cozy spot. Afterward, we walked […]
This past weekend was incredibly eventful and full of exciting experiences. On Saturday, we went on a day trip to the Celtic Boyne Valley, which was both educational and adventurous. We visited several historical sites throughout the valley, each with a unique story and cultural significance. Learning about the ancient history behind these locations enriched the entire experience. The landscape was stunning, although the hills were somewhat challenging to climb. The ground was slippery in places, and the hike up was long and tiring, but the view from the top made it worth the effort. We paused at the summit […]
The past few days have been incredibly eventful and filled with memorable experiences. One of the highlights was attending an Irish House Party, which was both lively and culturally enriching. We enjoyed a traditional music and dance performance that was not only entertaining but also gave us insight into Irish heritage. The musicians played with such passion and skill, and the atmosphere in the room was electric. What made the evening even more engaging was the audience interaction — the performers invited us to participate in songs. It was a fun and immersive way to connect with the local culture […]
This past weekend, we went on a weekend trip to Belfast and Derry. It was a very interesting and memorable experience. We started by going to the Titanic Belfast Museum, and I was not expecting it to be such an emotional experience, but I did tear up a bit. Riley and I went to Zizzi Pizza for lunch, which was good. After we did the Political Taxi Tours, checked into our hotel, and walked around central Belfast during our free time, we saw some fantastic street art. I had known previously that Belfast had an area with lots of street […]
This past weekend in Dublin, we visited Blarney Castle, and it was quite an experience. I was not expecting the line to be so long. I don’t typically have a fear of heights, but it was slightly daunting being up that high. I was also too scared to kiss the Blarney Stone. However, the architecture of the castle was beautiful and well worth the visit. After, I got a ham and cheese quiche, and later, Riley and I went to McDonald’s. I enjoyed European McDonald’s— it uses healthier ingredients than American McDonald’s. I could definitely tell the difference. I got […]
