Colin Caricato, Ireland Week 8: A venture away from UCD

With it now being the last week of my experience here in Ireland, I’ve truly got a lot to reflect on. This past week was jam-packed, and there was a lot of cool stuff I was able to do. This weekend, we had a free weekend, and I was able to go to Edinburgh with Nathaniel. The flight was only an hour long, and I hardly remember more than 10 minutes of it as I was asleep for almost the entire flight to Scotland. When we finally arrived, we got settled into our hostel which was immensely better than the […]

Colin Caricato, Ireland Week 7: Wings, Reunions, and Celtic Ruins

As we approach the end of our time in Dublin, this week presents a lot to reflect on. From going to Howth and hiking the coastal cliffs to reconnecting with old friends, this week has included lots of memorable moments. This weekend was slower than some of the others; however, it still ended up being filled with tons of fun activities. On Saturday, we had the pleasure of going to the Celtic Boyne Valley Tour. I enjoyed this day and I loved being able to spend time with Dean Kepner’s Daughter, Lily, while we ventured around the countryside and got […]

Colin Caricato, Ireland week 6: Games and Good Eats

Week six brings another exciting week here in Dublin, and I have so much that I need to unpack as we are nearing the back half of the trip. First things first, we went to see the Irish House Party perform traditional Irish music and tap dance. The music felt like something straight out of an 18th-century Irish pub and it almost made me feel like I was a fully Irish person myself. In addition to the house party, this weekend we had the pleasure of going to the Experience Gaelic games event. It was a really fun time and […]

Colin Caricato: Dublin Week 5- A trek Up North

Leading up to week five has brought even more excitement as I continue to enjoy my Dublin Journey. This weekend we had the chance to travel up north to visit Northern Ireland. One of the biggest improvements from this weekend overnight trip to the last one was our staying arrangements. Instead of being packed into six-person hostel rooms with thin walls, we were upgraded to the Holiday Inn Express, where we stayed in two-person rooms with larger beds and much more space. Although staying in hostels was a fun and memorable experience when we were in Galway, it was definitely […]

Colin Caricato: Dublin Week 4- More castles and Guinness tours

Week 4 has promised a lot, and as we near the halfway point, let’s recap what has happened this past week. By now, I’ve pretty much gotten into a routine, the large main UCD gym is finally letting everyone in, and I know how to get around by bus in all of Dublin with pretty much no trouble. This past week has been both exciting and exhausting, so let me fill you in on all of the juicy details. At my internship, I’ve been making great progress lately: I’ve finished creating all the onboarding materials for new hires and employees, […]

Colin Caricato- Ireland Week 3: A nice getaway to Galway

Week three in Dublin has been the most action packed week yet, and I have so much I want to tell you. This week, we traveled beyond Dublin and visited several incredible sights, including the Cliffs of Moher, Kylemore Abbey, Inish Mór, the Aran Islands, and most notably, Galway. The bus rides were filled with something I both love and desperately need: sleep. Although I occasionally was woken up by another Colin, the tour guide for our trip, his commentary made the interruptions worth it. As we traveled to Galway, Colin gave us an overview of Irish history and delved […]
