Anthony Bell – Ireland Week 8: A last Hurrah

I can’t believe this is my last week in Ireland. The eight weeks have truly flown by. Despite that, I can say I am looking forward to going home. I enjoyed my time in Ireland and am so grateful for how much I have learned and grown through this experience, but I am ready to see my family and friends, and embark on my next adventure. However, there were still some notable events and reflections that took place this last week. My internship experience has been absolutely amazing these past eight weeks. I have really settled into my role, finishing […]

Anthony Bell – Ireland Week 7: A Scenic Last Weekend Trip

As you can tell by the title, this post covers our last planned adventure of the trip, which consists of tours and more sight seeing of the beautiful landscape and history of Ireland. It is bittersweet to think about the fact that the trip is coming to an end, but I am eternally grateful for all that I have seen and experienced throughout this trip and am so happy I had the opportunity to go on so many adventures. For our last weekend trip we got to see a ton of the Celtic Boyne Valley, and according to my coworkers […]

Anthony Bell – Ireland Week 6: A Weekend of Gaelic Games and History

As I sit down to write this blog I can’t help but reflect on the fact that it does not feel like I have been in Ireland for 6 weeks. Despite having experienced so much of what Ireland has to offer, learning so much about myself and Irish history and culture, making new friends, and so much more, it still feels like I am only on my second or third week here. But I must acknowledge that the trip is coming to an end, especially because this upcoming weekend is the last scheduled weekend trip. It is a little saddening […]

Anthony Bell – Ireland Week 5: Learning About Northern Ireland!

This past week was another adventure I will never forget. I had the privilege of learning all about the rich political history of Northern Ireland, specifically Belfast and Derry, while experiencing extraordinary locations.  The packed weekend started off with the Titanic museum in Belfast. This was a very interactive museum with recreated decks and cabins, a scale model of the Titanic, tons of rich history, personal passenger stories, dramatic audiovisual presentations, and insights into maritime safety reforms sparked by the disaster. I learned a lot about the tragedy of the Titanic and the shockwaves it sent through the world from […]

Anthony Bell – Ireland Week 4: Castles, Cows, & Reflecting on My Internship

Wrapping up week four of being in Ireland I can’t help but reflect on the fact that it does not feel as though I have been here for a whole month. I still feel like I arrived last week and am looking forward to all the adventures that still await. That being said, this post does mark the halfway point of the trip and as I have continuously remarked in my previous posts, I am so grateful for to be here and all that I have seen, learned, and experienced. Despite feeling like my time here has been short, I […]

Anthony Bell – Ireland Week 3: New Adventures on the West Coast!

This week marks the third week in Ireland, and I am so grateful for the packed weekend we had on the West Coast. I experienced so many natural wonders, explored many cool places, and had an absolute blast with friends. Every day I grow more and more grateful for this abroad experience as I am seeing and experiencing things I have never imagined and learning so many things about myself and the world. Immersing myself in Irish culture and the beautiful landscapes across the West Coast has been an absolute adventure.  This past Friday I had the privilege of visiting […]
