Galway Trip

Now that I’ve been in Dublin for over two and a half weeks, I’ve learned to know my way aroundthe city. I know which bus routes to take to get to work or Dublin City Center which has made transportation much easier.

This past week in Dublin has been very exciting and busy. On Friday, we took a trip to Galway, which is on the west coast of Ireland. The trip to Galway was approximately 2 and a half hours, however, we stopped at the Cliffs of Moher on the way. The Cliffs of Moher were beautiful, to say the least. We got lucky because we had the best weather, with warm, temperatures and clear skies, something that isn’t typical in Ireland. Because of the great weather conditions, we were able to see well beyond the cliffs and were able to capture beautiful photos. After the Cliffs of Moher, we stopped at a small fishing village and had lunch before continuing our trip to Galway. We also stopped to take photos from the shore for 20 minutes which was a great experience. When we arrived in Galway, Emilia, Rayna, Zoe, Lucie and I went exploring through the city. Zoe and Rayna were looking to buy a Claddagh ring and were successful. After that, we walked to the hostel, showered, and got ready for dinner.

The next day we went to a small island off the coast of Ireland called Inis Mor, where most of us took a bike tour and explored the island. We first stopped to get some food, and then we rode ou bikes along the coast and passed many farm animals. We took a quick stop at an area known for spotting seals. After that, we kept biking and eventually decided to turn around because it was time to head back to Galway.

The next day, we drove over to Kyliemore Abbey, which might have been one of my favorite places I’ve visited in Ireland so far. The castle was beautiful as were the castle grounds and view. We explore much of the abbey and what was around it. There were beautiful gardens and fields of ponies. There were two young ponies with their mothers. We learned that these ponies are born brown, but their coats fade into white as theygrow. We then stopped to get lunch and browse the gift shop where we bought chocolates madeby the nuns who lived in the abbey. After that, we took a boat tour and saw the beautiful hills ofIreland. Then it was time to head back to Dublin.

As I returned to Dublin, I had dinner with myparents who had arrived a day earlier. The next day I had brunch with them and then went off to meet the rest of the group at Dublin Castle. Work this week was steady and I’ve been improving

and learning a lot about my marketing position. Overall, this past week has been amazing and educational and I’m excited for our future trips ahead
