This final week has been a great way to cap off one of the best summers of my life. I started off in Barcelona, and it finally felt like summer again after spending almost two months in Ireland where the weather is usually cool and cloudy. On the first day, I visited the Sagrada Familia, which was even more stunning in person than I expected. After that, I rented a bike and rode along Barceloneta Beach. The sun, the ocean, and the vibe of the city made it feel like the perfect summer day. The next day was all about fun. We went jet skiing in the morning which was a total rush, and in the evening, we took a sunset cruise with drinks and music. The views were unreal and it was such a chill way to end the day. On our last day in Barcelona, we took a full-day trip to Costa Brava where we kayaked along the coast and even went snorkeling. The water was super clear and it honestly felt like something out of a movie.
After Barcelona, I flew to Vienna which was a completely different experience but just as amazing. On the first day, I checked out the Austrian Parliament and tried their famous Wiener Schnitzel, which totally lived up to the hype. That night, I hung out at the hostel and made friends with a bunch of other travelers. I got really close with this guy from Romania who’s into producing music. He even let me listen to a few of his tracks and they were actually really good. It was cool just vibing with people from all over.
The next night, I went to a concert near Schönbrunn Palace. The orchestra was incredible and the opera singers gave me chills. After the show, I met up with some hostel friends from Italy and we grabbed spicy Austrian hot dogs called Bosna. They were amazing and hit the spot after a long day.
This whole trip really showed me how much I love traveling. Every city had its own vibe and something special to offer. Dublin felt totally different from Barcelona, and Vienna had a completely different energy too, but I enjoyed each place in its own way. I learned cool stuff about each culture, like how some people in Austria roll their own cigarettes to save money. I definitely want to come back to Europe again someday and explore even more cities.
