It is so crazy to think that this trip is almost over! I am onto my last week here in Dublin, and that means it’s time for my final blog. Beginning with my internship, I finished up the project that I had been working on for the past 6 weeks. I got my LEGO AFM fully operational and completely finished the assembly manual and was able to turn it in, meaning that I am pretty much done with work! This experience has taught me so much about nanotechnology as well as working and researching in a lab and I am very grateful for it.
Moving onto the fun stuff, this past weekend was our free weekend and me and my friends all traveled to Mallorca to get some much needed sun and relaxation. We left on Thursday and arrived pretty late at night, only to find out that some of the buses were on strike, which skyrocketed the uber prices. Luckily though, as we were walking around the airport, we were approached by a man saying that he could get all six of us where we needed to go for much cheaper (sounds sketchy, I know). We agreed to let him give us a ride, and it turned out to be a super awesome experience! Carlos, our driver, was awesome and let us connect to the speaker and even offered to let us sing karaoke! We arrived at our destination in one piece and in high spirits after the long day of travel.
We spent the next two days practically living on the beach. In my head, I imagined that I would be able to soak up so much sun and swim in the ocean to my heart’s content, and possibly leave with an awesome tan. That was not the case. The very first day I fell asleep on the beach and woke up with a fairly decent burn (the type where shirts hurt and you can’t move your arms). This put a bit of a damper on the trip, but I did not let it stop me from having the vacation I earned and went right back to the beach the second day, this time covered in sun screen. The third day, we rented a boat, and it was super cool to drive around the island and visit the different beaches and swim in the ocean. Overall, the trip was so much fun, filled with delicious food, beautiful beaches, and many memories made!

Way to go finishing your work project Price, great work!! Yeah falling asleep on the beach was definitely not your best idea but it’s nice to see you still having a great time!! That banana split is quite massive but it looks delicious!!
