I can’t believe I’m writing my final blog post of the summer! These past eight weeks have been some of the best of my life – exploring and living in a different country, learning so many new skills, travelling to incredible places, and making some of the best friends I could ask for. I am so sad to leave behind a place that truly feels like home.
My friends and I took advantage of our free weekend and travelled to Mallorca! Norah and I departed for the airport on Thursday afternoon to catch our 6pm flight, but didn’t take off until nearly 1am and arrived at our hotel after 5am! While this was one of the most difficult travel experiences I have had, the beautiful weather and stunning beaches made the trip well worth it. We met up with Kayla, Molly, and Sienna and spent most of Friday relaxing on the beach, then found ourselves in a small town called Port d’Andratx (which was completely unplanned) where we explored the coastal area and had a delicious dinner. On Saturday we took the day to explore some of the local, more private, beaches in Peguera where we stayed which were absolutely incredible. I stayed in the ocean most of the day, as the water was crystal clear and nearly as warm as the air. Safe to say I found my happy place! The days seemed to keep getting better, as Sunday we had a boat tour around the island where we got to swim and snorkel off the coast. It was amazing to explore some of the more unseen areas of the island and enjoy our last day soaking up the sun. Afterwards, we explored Palma which was nothing like I expected – the architecture and unique streets were truly impressive and I loved everything about it. Exhausted, we ended our day early with some delicious gelato by the beach, reminiscing about all our favorite parts of our Dublin experience.
Looking back, I never could have predicted the immense growth I would experience in such a short amount of time. Each Monday that was dedicated to class and a group outing left me with so much important knowledge about Ireland’s history and culture. I also really enjoyed my internship with a local accounting firm and formed such meaningful relationships with my colleagues. Each day, they were so helpful in teaching me new skills that I will use in my professional career. Their passion for their job helped me to realize that this is the type of career I want to pursue. All of our weekend trips left me with memories that will last a lifetime, and I am beyond grateful that I was able to explore so many new and incredible places. Most of all, I came into this program only knowing a few people, but am leaving with some of my best friends. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and I’d do it all again! Thanks a mil, Dublin!

We had quite the weekend, Campbell! Thank you so much for being both my travel buddy and swimming buddy! We truly made memories to last a lifetime and I can not wait to make some more back at home!
These are some awesome pics Campbell! It looks like you had an awesome time in Mallorca! It’s definitely on my list of must-see places. Sorry for your unexpected travel difficulties, I feel the pain after a rough layover in Liverpool this weekend. However, sounds like you made the best out of the trip!
