Tennyson Kelly: Bucknell In Dublin Week 7 – Time’s Almost Up

The events of week 7 in Dublin kicked off on Saturday morning when Brad, Max, and I made our way to the Grange Castle Golf Course to play a full round of 18 holes on the beautiful course. We had previously played a round on their 7-hole course, but we were very excited to play on the main course. Although we did not play our best, we had an incredible amount of fun on the course. I was feeling generous, so I gave Max a few of my balls since his golf balls seemed to have a magnet for the water on the course. We played for over 4 hours, and we were left exhausted after walking the entire course.

On Sunday night, we decided to test our brains at Trivia night at DisNDat. We did not make the best team for trivia, as we kept arguing over answers and accidentally misclicking the wrong answers. There were many trivia questions about the United States, which we thought would for sure be free points for us. However, no matter how fast we clicked the answer, the team from Canada somehow answered the question quicker than us. Following trivia, we played a game of bingo. On the bingo cards were various songs, and the DJ would play a short clip of each song. This was a lot of fun, as they were playing very good songs. Brad ended up winning three drinks for us; however, one sadly ended up all over the table.

On Monday, we took a walking tour on the Howth cliffs as a group. We hiked up to the highest point in Howth, which had astonishing views of the Dublin harbor. During the hike, we walked through many spikey bushes, which had me regretting wearing shorts. At the end of our hike, a group of us went to The Bloody Stream Pub for lunch. I got mussels and a steak sandwich for lunch, both of which were spectacular.

On Tuesday night, Brad, Max, Nick, and I went to Doheny & Nesbitt, a Victorian heritage pub which has been in business for centuries. The pub had a very classical vibe and excellent live music.

I have been having a very good time at my internship as well. I have been getting to know my coworkers and I enjoy going into the office every day. I am also happy that I am getting very beneficial experience through my internship.

As my time in Ireland begins to wrap up, I am starting to reflect on all the amazing experiences I have had. While it is going to be nice to go back home, I will certainly miss being in Ireland.

I still can’t believe you wore shorts on our day trip to Howth and were still barely complaining when we our group was wading through all of those spiky bushes on the mountain. I would agree though that our lunch at the Bloody Stream after had some of the best seafood that we’ve had on the trip.
