I cannot believe it is already week 6 and we are ¾ of the way through our time here. I continue to enjoy every second and have made so many amazing memories. My internship is still going well – I am continuing to learn new skills and now spend most of my time filing tax returns. I’m sure I will become an expert by the end of the summer! My friends and I continue to enjoy all that downtown Dublin has to offer. I really enjoyed the Irish house party that we attended on Thursday night! The musicians were incredibly talented and I loved hearing the traditional Irish music.
Sienna and I had an early morning on Friday. We left our apartment at 5am and headed to the airport for our flight to Portugal! The flight was super easy and we arrived in Albufeira by 11:30am, so we checked into our hostel, grabbed a quick lunch, and headed straight to the beach. Although the water was much colder than I expected, the ocean was stunning and very relaxing, and the weather was perfect. That night was super fun because we met up with Sienna’s friend and her cousin who happened to be there on vacation! We got dinner at a rooftop bar, then made our way into the town for a night of fun. I was shocked to find that people literally partied until sunrise!
Saturday we woke up and decided to hike 3 miles to find a hidden beach – a spot recommended to us by a local. This walk took us along the coast through new towns, wealthy neighborhoods, and lots of natural landscape that we had to navigate. When we got to the location, we found ourselves standing on huge cliffs above the ocean and the views were incredible. We made our way down into a caved area where we found the small beach, which was so rewarding after our journey there. We later returned to our local beach for a relaxing afternoon before getting some delicious Mexican food for dinner and spending another night downtown. Sienna and I did not meet a single other American during our visit and everyone was shocked when we said we were from the U.S.
We spent our last day swimming and soaking up the sunny weather at the beach. We enjoyed one last dinner with an ocean view, then headed to the airport for our flight home. Albufiera was more than I ever could have imagined and definitely a once in a lifetime experience. We had an amazing trip, but I am very happy to be back in Dublin!

The hidden beach looks gorgeous! So happy you got to enjoy your weekend!
