Tennyson Kelly: Bucknell in Dublin Week 8 – That’s a Wrap

As my time in Dublin comes to a close, I cannot fully express how great of an experience this trip was. What seemed would be a long two months in the beginning actually flew by in the blink of an eye. From seeing amazing sights, learning all about Ireland, taking courses, and partaking in a global internship, I can say that this trip was amazing.

The weekend trips were definitely my favorite parts of the trip. From seeing the cliffs of Moher, visiting Galway, and Northern Ireland, among other locations, I can say I have pretty much visited the majority of the Island of Ireland in the mere two months I have spent here. My favorite weekend trip was the weekend trip we took to Galway. Galway is an amazing city with a vibrant nightlife and amazing food. The people in Ireland are very welcoming, and they are very talkative, which made me feel right at home.

My internship at Coleman Legal LLP was a very beneficial experience. I got firsthand experience of working in a law firm, and I got to learn a lot about the legal system in Ireland – something which we were also learning in our class ACFM150: Judging Justice. All of the people who work at Coleman Legal are amazing people, and I have gained a huge amount of respect for all of them. Not only did I just get something to put on my resume, but I also gained new connections and beneficial experiences. This internship has led me to develop a greater desire to study law and become a lawyer in the future.

On our last weekend, I stayed in Dublin with Brad. We enjoyed our last few nights together going out to the pubs, my favorite one being DisNDat. On Friday night, I attended a dinner party with the firm that I have been interning at. At the party, I got to spend time actually getting to know the people I have spent the past few weeks working with. This made me realize that the people at my internship are amazing people and I will miss them when I leave. I also used this time to get caught up on work from classes and to get some needed rest ahead of my last week in Ireland. While I am sad to leave, I am excited to go back home to see my family and start the fall semester at Bucknell.
