This weekend, my friends and I made the most of our free weekend and traveled to the island of Mallorca in Spain. We landed late on Thursday night, but although tired from our long journey, we decided to explore the town of Mallorca. Even though it was dark out, the town itself was lit up with calm yellow lights, making it seem incredibly welcoming. On Friday morning, my friends and I awoke early to get the necessary supplies for the weekend and head off to the beach. We spent all day Friday at the beach, swimming in the beautiful light blue ocean and getting way too much sun. While at the beach, I swam to not one but two different islands to try and make the most of my trip. After the beach, we all got ready for dinner and a night out. While getting ready, it was then that people realized that they had gotten way too much sun, as Price and Ellix regretted falling asleep without applying sunscreen. Friday night, we went out to get some delicious Spanish sandwiches and then went to the club. The Spanish nightlife was surprisingly much different from what I was expecting, as everything started much later and went till the early hours of the morning. On Saturday, we went to the beach again, doing similar activities to the day before: swimming, drinking Piña Coladas, and getting even more burned. Saturday night was pretty similar to the night before, as we got another amazing dinner and went out. On Sunday, we rented our very own boat and sailed out to explore some new inlets and beaches. At our very first inlet, we found ourselves having a rather hard time getting the anchor to stick. I decided to put on some goggles to swim down to check what the problem was. As I jumped into the water, I was shocked to find the chain dragging and the anchor gone! I quickly hopped back on the boat, started the engine, and drove us back to the dock. We were lucky enough to be given a new anchor and to be able to once again set sail. After sailing around for a while we found a beautiful beach with clear water and good vibes. We hung out there for a while, jumping off the boat and swimming to islands. Sunday night was a calmer night as we enjoyed our final meal and night out. Monday came too soon as we were so sad to leave Spain behind. As sad as it was to leave Spain, I am not ready to say goodbye to Ireland. This trip has been truly special and one that I will never forget. I am still shocked at how fast eight weeks have gone by, as it feels like only yesterday we were getting on the bus for our first trip to Wicklow. What a fantastic summer filled with amazing memories and experiences. Thank you, Ireland.
