The seventh week of my trip to Ireland was not as eventful as some, but I still had a great time with some trips and internship work. My internship continued on its path as I started putting my language integration plan into practice by translated an entire work flow and testing it. It took about two days but I was able to successfully translate the flow from English to Spanish and was able to test it. It was basically an entire AI agent but I booked appointments, cancelled appointments, rescheduled appointments, and asked questions to it in Spanish. I thought my work was very successful during my internship and I felt accomplished to have completed it with my boss’ approval.
On Saturday we took a day trip on a bus to northeast of Dublin in the Celtic Boyne Valley. We started with a drive to the hill of tara where we saw an old religious site and a statue honoring Saint Patrick. There were also cute donkeys on a farm near there where we get to pet them. After that we headed to Trim Castle where we got a tour and were able to go inside a very old castle. It was really cool and I found it interesting to read about the history of each chamber in the castle. We then drove over to the Loughcrew Passage Tomb and hiked up a hill to get to see some beautiful sights as well as look at old tombs. We then stopped for lunch before heading to the Hill of Uisneach which was near the geographical center of Ireland. We got a tour and were able to look at an older civilization that used to live near the hill and honor their history as well. We then headed back to UCD from what was a very eventful day traveling, we were in the bus from 7:45 AM to around 5:45 PM.
On Sunday my parents arrived in Dublin, they had already been in Ireland for a couple of days on the west coast visiting Galway and Killarney. I met them at their hotel and then we went over to the Jameson distillery for a tour and drink tasting. After that we went to the Brazen head for dinner and then I headed back to UCD before heading to bed. On Monday I woke up around 8:15 before taking the 9:20 AM bus over to the dart station in Blackrock. We then took the dart all the way up to Howth before our trip for the day. We walked over 7 km up the Howth mountain and along the cliffs in Howth with some breathtaking views. This was our last excursion all as a group together, and it was bittersweet but I had a great time. After that I had lunch with some people in the group at the Bloody Stream where I got some great seafood. After that I headed back to UCD from the dart station and then another bus. This week was a lot of fun, we had a lot of outdoor excursions where I was able to experience the beauty of Ireland. I honestly feel like I’ve been able to experience more beauty from this country over time.
