Ellix Sandhu Week 7: Relaxation

Wow, what a week. We are so close to the end of our summer in Dublin, and I have experienced just about every different lifestyle imaginable. This weekend was extremely relaxed, as I had a busy week at my internship. My roommates and I decided to use our skip days in order to be able to enjoy our last full weekend in Dublin. We used these days to catch up on some much needed sleep, and to enjoy the weather.

On Friday we decided to try out a couple pubs that we had been wanting to go to, and spent our night relaxing and talking about the most random topics. I tried to sleep in on saturday, but was interrupted by the loud sounds of the garbage truck backing up. In the afternoon, I went for a long walk around campus, which was way more peaceful than in the mornings when I walk to the lab for work.

Sunday was just about the same as Saturday, with very little going on. However, this weekend we are going to Mallorca, and with how busy I will be, it is definitely nice to get some rest and relaxation.

On Tuesday Layth’s girlfriend arrived, which was very exciting. Later in the evening, we all went out to show her around and take her to our favorite pubs. Tuesday night started off a little rough when during a game of catch, our favorite ball bounced out of the window. After looking in the bushes for around fifteen minutes, we decided to throw in the towel and say goodbye to our beloved ball.

In terms of my internship, things have definitely been picking up. I have been in the lab for most of the summer doing experiments and generating data, and now I have started to do some analysis. On Monday I had to get a flashdrive in order to transfer my data from the computer in the lab to my laptop. I ended up having to go to three different stores and take multiple buses, but I finally got it. I still have lots to do before my final presentation for my research group, but it is definitely weird to think about how close to the end I am.

It is surreal to think that this is my second to last blog, the summer is going so fast! I have mixed feelings about going home, and I am definitely going to miss spending the weekends in Dublin.
