This past weekend, we went on a weekend trip to Belfast and Derry. It was a very interesting and memorable experience.
We started by going to the Titanic Belfast Museum, and I was not expecting it to be such an emotional experience, but I did tear up a bit. Riley and I went to Zizzi Pizza for lunch, which was good. After we did the Political Taxi Tours, checked into our hotel, and walked around central Belfast during our free time, we saw some fantastic street art. I had known previously that Belfast had an area with lots of street art, and it was a great walk. The street art we saw included colorful faces in a tunnel, other written messages, and a ceramic relief wall that depicted buildings and streets in the Cathedral Quarter.
We went to the Common Market for dinner, which was very busy, but the food was fantastic. They had various options at the venue, including pizza, chicken, and gelato. I got tacos at a Mexican Restaurant. We waited for our food on the top floor, and then once we got our food, we went outside to eat. After we went out, we went to a well-known pub in Belfast called The Dirty Onion and a couple of other places. The next day, we went to the Rope Bridge, and it was exciting to climb the bridge, because it did not seem as stable as I expected. You could get certificates at the end to affirm that you crossed the bridge. Also, climbing the rocks was difficult, and I feared tripping or falling.
We also went to the Giant’s Causeway and climbed rocks near the water; the rocks were pretty steep.
Then we went to Sheepdog and even got the opportunity to pet dogs and hold sheep; it was the cutest thing I have ever seen. The next day, we explored Derry City, and it was cool to see a mural of the Derry Girls on a building. We also visited the Museum of Free Derry afterward, and visiting this museum was an emotional experience. It was sad to hear about its history of Bloody Sunday. Then we went to a restaurant for lunch, and I got salmon with noodles on the side. After lunch, we walked around a bit and went to a gelato place as well as a grocery store. Then, we met at the Iceland Supermarket to head home.

I enjoyed walking around Belfast with you! I have so many photos of the street art we saw along our walk. I couldn’t believe how busy Common Market was but I think the food was totally worth it!
