Good afternoon everyone! As week 4 comes to an end, there is without a doubt that I am definitely coming back to visit Dublin again! The scenery is unmatched and the experience is like no other! But, as always, lets dive into what has happened this week.
Just kidding! Lets dive into some recommendations from me to you! Over the weekend we had visited three locations, The Rock of Cashel, Blarney Castle & Gardens, and Cahir Castle. If you are between the three and only have time to choose one, I would say definitely say to go to Blarney Castle & Gardens. Even if you do not have time to kiss the stone, the whole location is beautiful! Whether it be from ducking down in caves to trekking through the forestry, there are so many paths to take and sights to see (Blarney’s house is a must see!). Second, if you find yourself at the Merchant’s Arch for lunch or dinner one day, if available, I would say to order the sticky toffee pudding. Even though it truly pushed me off the edge from full to VERY full, the dessert melted in your mouth and had the perfect balance of sweet and savory with the help of the buttercream frosting on the side. Third, if you are at the Guinness Storehouse, if you want a good pint (for tasting purposes), get the Hop House 13 instead of the Guinness. Might be a little shocking to hear at first, but I would say it tastes kind of flat. However, if you want a nice picture (as we all do) get the Guinness! The small changes on the cup at the Storehouse makes all the difference and truly makes you go “oooooo”.
On a different note, something new I learned is that Chinese food is very different here. While here in Dublin I find myself craving my hometown Chinese food and with that comes a deep dive of the food delivery apps here. Looking at the various menus, I learned that in Ireland at least, they love a dish called a “spice bag”. (In a bag) They include deep-fried salt and chilli chips (fries sold at a Chinese takeaway??) and chicken, alongside different types of peppers, onions, and of course, spices. For sure different than your typical chicken and broccoli, but, my coworkers have told me it is a must have when in Europe, so catch my review on it next week!
Lastly, I wanted to again highlight my time at Financefair! As said before, the team and the environment is unmatched and without fail, always positive, even with month-end reports due dates approaching. Today was company picture day! With many incomers to the Financefair family and updates undergoing to the website, they had wanted to retake everyone’s pictures and even include everyone on the website. Kudos to the marketing team for doing such an amazing job on working to redesign the website, the new additions and revisions are very well done and I can’t wait to see how the pictures come out!
