I’m back again with another update on my recent adventures in Dublin! It’s been another amazing week and I can’t wait to share all about it. Last week at my internship I was able to spend the day with my boss meeting some of the clients they work with. I gained a lot of knowledge on appropriate ways to speak with those who struggle with addiction. We went to different clinics and homeless shelters around Bray Town to learn about the ways in which they provide support for individuals. I am so grateful for these opportunities and look forward to doing this more often. Another highlight of this entire experience has definitely been the friendships I have made. Each day I look forward to spending time with my roommates and hearing about their days and hearing the fun stories they have to share.
Over the weekend we had a busy Saturday at the Rock of Cashel, Blarney Castle, and Cahir Castle. At Blarney Castle I kissed the Blarney Stone which is supposed to give you “the gift of the gab”! It was about an hour and a half long line but the time went by pretty fast and it was cool to be inside the castle and climb the small spiral stairs that were made so long ago. On Sunday my roommates and I went to forty foot to go swimming. The water was FREEZING but we had a great time. Afterwards we went to the farmers market nearby which I would definitely recommend. There were lots of stands with good food and cool trinkets.
After class on Monday we went to the Guinness Storehouse. It was really interesting to learn the ingredients and process of how Guinness is made. Something fun I learned on our tour was that every day at 10am expert taste testers drink every brew of Guinness that was made to ensure they all are consistent and taste good. After our tour everyone was able to try a pint while looking out to see beautiful views of Dublin. Although I can say I am not the biggest fan of the taste of Guinness, it was a great experience!
My highlight of this past week was going to see Noah Kahan perform at Marlay Park on Tuesday night. There was a group of us that all had tickets so we took the bus there together. The weather was perfect and there was not a drop of rain! We got there very early so we had a great spot to stand.
I am looking forward to going to Northern Ireland this weekend and also getting to see my family soon. I’ll be back next week with more stories to share 🙂

The forty foot looks like it was a great time, can’t wait to check it out myself! Getting to go to Noah Kahan was also amazing, and great that we got to go for such a low price! Special shout-out to Mr. Cullinane for the ride back to UCD!
