This weekend was my favorite part of the trip so far. We went out west to Galway and did so much just in a few days. The first thing we did in Galway was to visit the Cliffs of Moher. I’d seen pictures before, and heard of how beautiful it was, but nothing compares to being there and seeing it with my own eyes. It was a little windy, but it was perfect weather. We even got to witness a proposal at the top of the cliffs which was so special and such a cool place to propose!
We also took a ferry out to the Aran Islands, which was just as beautiful. I ended up walking around the island, just exploring with my friends. Even though it was a little rainy, the views were super shocking. It was such a fun and cool place. The water was so beautiful even on a cloudy day. There were animals everywhere sheep, horses, cats and lots of cows.
That night, I had dinner at Elephant & Castle in Galway. The food was delicious. The next day, I visited Kylemore Abbey, which was incredible. The drive there was the part that shocked me the most. I loved just looking out the window and seeing all the mountains and water and animals. The building is gorgeous, right by a lake with mountains behind it. The gardens were super pretty too and I really just enjoyed walking around and taking in the sights.
Then we took a ferry where we were able to see the fjord. It was breathtaking and super relaxing just sitting and seeing the views. The water was a lot more clear than I expected and we were able to see hundreds of jellyfish.
Overall, it was such a special weekend and definitely one I will always remember.
